"The role of journalists in the development of cooperation between Russia and Montenegro, the integration of cultures and the role of Ulcinj as the pearl of the Montenegrin Adriatic" were the topic of the meeting, in which took place the Russian Ambassador, his Excellency Yakov Gerasimov, the official representatives of the Municipality and the Ministry of Tourism, and 30 editors of Russian major newspapers.
Talking about the unusual relationship between the Great Russian Empires and the small principality, Gerasimov announced that in 2011 will be celebrated 300 years since the establishment of the official relations between Russia and Montenegro.
"Montenegro is a small, multinational and multiconfessional, very beautiful country, which has a great history. Despite differences in size of the countries, we have many similarities and we can learn a lot from each other, "said Mr. Gerasimov.
He pointed out that Montenegro is well known by its cities such as Podgorica, Cetinje, Budva.
"But there are other very nice cities and towns. One of them is Ulcinj. Now you have the particular opportunity to present the country to residents of Russian regions and to describe how nice is Montenegro and to attract attention to the beauties of Ulcinj," told the reporters Mr.Gerasimov.
Mr. Gzim Hajdinaga, the Mayor of Ulcinj, said that the diversity is considered to be wealth both in Russia and Montenegro.
"Ulcinj has 32 kilometers of coastline, and 22.5 kilometers of beautiful beaches. Many of our large beaches compared to the famous Copacabana, but I would like to make a different comparison: Brazil's Copacabana is like our Long Beach, "said Hajdinaga.
